My husband and daughter started Karate together a few years ago and it has been amazing to see the growth in our daughter. She is very serious about her lessons, the dojo and her sensei's. It has built confidence in her that you can see in school, other activities and interactions with friends.

Now my youngest and I have started and it is a whole family affair! It is a great way to have family time, get great exercise and cheer each other on.

Sensei Statz is very patient, yet firm and has a very easy way of explaining things for ALL of us as we learn!

Highly recommend South Surrey Karate Club!

Makes me wish I was young again, so I could go through life with less to worry about. The classes follow a set curriculum and students must pass tests. Some fail, but few seem to mind how rigorous the classes and the tests are. Students thrive on being challenged, and karate at this school includes a some judo and jujitsu. The students like it.

Superior instruction and great for the family.

I wish I'd have had the opportunity to take karate when I was young. My kids love it.

Physical strength teaches discipline of the mind also

I was a part of this club for over 10 years. I watched the club change and evolve and competed successfully at many provincial, regional and a few Winter Games while Karate was still a part of it. The instructor of this club creates a space of self exploration while teaching traditional Japanese ways of martial arts in training of your mind and body. Physical training is as much an exercise for the body as it is an outlet for stress and negative energy we run into during the day/months/years to allow us to release that keeping the mind clear. With a strong body and clear mind we tone the spirit.

I have yet to find any other exercise outlet that does for me what karate did, specifically with an knowledgeable, insightful and dynamic Sensei as you'll find at the South Surrey Karate Club.

Our family has been so pleased to be part of the South Surrey Karate Club. This is our fourth year as part of the South Surrey Club, and we have seen our three children grow to enjoy this discipline more and more each year. This Club is very family oriented and Sensei Statz and Sensei Hawkins have challenged and inspired them to be their best at whatever they do. We have been involved with two other martial arts schools, and I can't recommend this Club more highly.

Great instruction, classes are varied and informative.
