Calgary Rakushinkan is a dojo dedicated to "Kenju Ittai no Aiki" - Aiki through the unity of sword and body.
We practice several arts in order to develop true aiki. These are jujutsu and kenjutsu (sword) arts of Takeda Sokaku as well as aikido and other auxiliary arts.
Specifically we practice Daito Ryu, kenjutsu and iaijutsu as inherited by Yamamoto Kakuyoshi as well as the Aikido system and methods of Ishikawa Tomohiro.
The following Martial Arts Styles are offered at Calgary Rakushinkan:
Regular classes (teens and adults):
Thursdays 5:30 pm-7:30 pm
Sundays 5:00 pm-7:00 pm
Kids class coming soon.
