Reviews of Canada's Best Karate

Past student of this place quite a long time ago when I was young. Mind you, I will be critiquing this place based on my experience with it, however I'm sure it has not changed that much in 10 years. If your a parent and your intentions are to help your child learn how to defend himself, or an adult looking to practice martial arts, look elsewhere, because what they teach here will get your child or any adult killed for sure. I could go on and on, but I will try to keep it brief:

The kind of training they put their customers through is too soft and impractical to be applied in a real life, not to mention, violent situation. CBK instructors tend to focus on what looks cool, or stuff that looks flashy, high kicks and all that nonsense. Self-defense drills are never done at a realistic speed and are done in a sterile practice environment with a partner who will always comply with the technique. Sparring/kumite, is never ever done full force, cuz it's dangerous!. I'm sure all this safety procedure does not replicate the reality of an enemy trying to do harm to you. No, this is setting up the person for failure. I will end with this, The founders of this company are running a con-job they are marketing "Martial Arts" to white people who just don't know any better, and I was one of them, but I was a teen so shoot me. But if your just into cardio kickboxing, I'm sure they do that just fine. I have been quite critical, yes, so I won't be surprised if the authorities censor this. I just hope a few people read my post. :P :)
