Community Martial Arts is owned and operated by Brian and Karen Larter. Brian is a 5th Dan black belt in Shotokan karate with over 20 years of teaching experience. The goal of our club is to offer a program of fitness and self-discipline while maintaining an atmosphere of friendliness and fun. We believe that students learn better when they truly enjoy what they are doing.
We also offer kick boxing classes which focus entirely on aerobic fitness. These are karate-style workouts set to music, peppered with a fair amount of humour. To quote one of our students, "You notice the pain and exhaustion less when you're laughing and giggling so much!" In both our karate and our kick boxing classes we also teach specific elements of self defense.
