My child has been a student at the dojo for many years. Mike and Barb have done an exceptional job in karate instruction, and in coaching the kids about self-respect and discipline. I've been amazed at benefits for my child in addition to karate skills, in terms of focus, coordination and even memory.
A great program that I would highly recommend.

This place has 2 black belt instructors who are husband and wife. They really work well as a team. They teach a combination of traditional discipline, plus self-defence and modern sparring.
Sensei Barb is great with the little kids and prepares them for more serious training when they advance through the belts. The kids seem to have a really good time, even though she constantly challenges them to improve their skills. Not too many teachers can do that.
Renshi Mike is the real deal. He has training for over 25 years and is still teaching every day. He teaches all the older kids, the advanced belts and the adult classes. He keeps the quality really high at his school and is totally engaged with all of his students. I've always been really impressed with how well his students perform at tournaments and at the school demonstrations etc.
When we moved out of the area, we looked at other schools and decided that it was worth the extra drive to keep coming out to classes with Renshi Mike.
