Goshinkan-Ryu Ju-Jitsu

Goshinkan Ju Jitsu is a Practical and effective system of self-defense.

We teach orginal and modern Goshinkan-Ryu Japanese Ju-Jitsu. In the last twenty years, Ju Jitsu has garnered a lot of interest worldwide due to promotions like the UFC, but Ju-Jitsu has been around for centuries. Ju-Jitsu is the parent martial art of karate, judo, aikido, sambo and others, and was perfected by Japanese warriors and protectors known as Samurai. Goshinkan Ju-Jitsu is the only Provincially, Nationally, Internationally and World recognized style of Ju-Jitsu in Canada.

Programs & Class Schedule

Our Little Samurai™ Program is not just a martial arts program for boys and girls ages 5 - 7, it is a step-by-step danger awareness program. Kevin Lintott Shihan started and developed the program in 2004, and it has expanded throughout Alberta, into B.C. and Saskatchewan.

Our Junior Shogun™ Program is a martial arts program for boys and girls ages 8 - 13, and is based on research and education with the combination of personal safety skills and ju jitsu techniques.

This program is based on a traditional stripe color belt system and when the student reaches the last level in the Junior Shogun program they are placed in the Adult program.

Our Junior Leader™ Program is a program for boys and girls ages 8 - 13, students are hand picked by black belt instructors to participate in the junior leader program.

This program helps build leadership and strong ju jitsu skills beyond the regular Ju Jitsu Programs. The Junior Leader™ is lent a blue Ju Jitsu Gi embroidered with a Junior Leader logo. The student does not own this Gi as it belongs to the Alberta Ju Jitsu Association. Junior Leaders will wear the blue Gi only when helping with Mini Bushi™ Program and Little Samurai™ Program. After these classes they are to change into their traditional white top, they are allowed to keep the blue pants in during their regular class.

Our Junior Shogun™ Black Stripe Program is a martial arts program for boys and girls ages 8 - 13, and is based on research and education with the combination of personal safety skills and ju jitsu techniques.

This program is based on a traditional stripe color belt system and when the student reaches the last level in the Junior Shogun program they are placed in the Junior Shogun™ Black Stripe Program. The program is very similar to the teens and adults ju jitsu programs however it still utilizes the striping system.

Arguably the most devastating and effective system of self-defense, ju jitsu is often taught to law enforcement personnel and personal security professionals. You will never see a fancy, high-flying kick or intricate and flashy sequence of moves taught in our schools, instead you will learn immediately usable and effective self-defense techniques and tactics design for one purpose — to keep you, your family and possessions safe.

Not being in a confrontation is ideal, so learning how to avoid them whenever possible is our first consideration and strategy. However, physical confrontations do happen and from the first class you are learning how to mitigate your risk, as well as position yourself to remove yourself from the situation safely. Should you find yourself in a physical confrontation you will be armed with proven and effective self-defense techniques and tactics to help you stop the attack and prevent further attack.

For men and women from 13 and older this program is based on a traditional color belt system (White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple and Brown) and when the student reaches the last level in the program they are able to test for their Black Belt.
