Ingersoll Goju Ryu Karate
We train in Goju Ryu Karate. Our head instructor, 8th dan Hanshi, Isao Yabunaka, is very passionate and dedicated to passing on his knowledge of karate. He started training under Gogen Yamaguchi and Shihan Shuji Tasaki. In 1970 he moved to Vancouver, BC and opened up his first dojo at the Renfrew Community Centre.
In 1989 he and his family relocated to Ingersoll and he opened up the Ingersoll Goju Ryu Karate club, which would also be known as the Honbu Dojo for Seiwa Kai Canada.
Our dojo belongs to the Ontario Karate Federation and we offer opportunities for children, youth, and adults to train for both recreation and competitive atmospheres.
