I am not an athlete; I walk most places, I run sometimes and I struggle through HIIT on occasion. Their Self Defense 101 class kicked my ass, but I still signed up to continue. The instruction was thoughtful and considered many of the situations a person could find themselves dealing with, as well as varying comfort levels with violence. The instructors were professional, helpful, and engaging. Progress with the techniques is noted during classes, and coaching is offered both one-on-one and within the larger group as needed. Assessment is done that reviews the techniques learned as well as their use under pressure, and it seems accurate and fair based on my own experiences. They offer great services for both the timid bookworm (me), and those with previous martial art training (my husband).
