Change of heart, situation rectified

After recently posting a negative review about this academy, I was contacted and the academy completely rectified the situation and after having a very good conversation with them, I feel a lot different about the professionalism and views of the company. Although I wish that I was contacted before writing a review, I am completely understanding that times are busy and sometimes addressing issues in a timely manor just isn’t possible, I just appreciate that one way or another, I’m not left hanging in suspense. I hope to hopefully get to the academy post baby, to get back in shape and now would definitely consider sending my kids as they each have a friend that goes and loves it. Thank you.

Extemely disappointed

I signed up for woman’s kickboxing, was super pumped up for it, then found out a week before class started that I was pregnant. Being that I was out of town for the holidays, and not back in town until the Sunday before class started (on tues) I contacted them right away and explained the situation. Being that all my kids are school aged, this was something that wasn’t planned or expected but none the less, I wasn’t prepared to put my unborn child at risk. My first dr appt regarding the pregnancy was on the Thursday I got back, second class I was signed up for and then I wasn’t booked in to see my baby dr until Feb 23rd, (seven weeks into my session) so unable to even get a proper clearance that it wouldn’t do harm, I asked to bow out. Now I understand that there was a possibility of me losing my registration that was paid, but I think it is horrible business practise and completely unethical that they would expect me to sign a waiver releaseing any liability without proper clearance from someone who is specialized in the field. In my opinion, the way I felt they came across is that they have very little disregard of lives of others, and are only interested in making a buck off someone. Would not recommend to anyone, would definitely not trust my children’s lives in their hands.

The owner injures his students regularly (that includes myself) and uses intimidation tactics. I can't tell you how many times I've seen him hump students while they are not looking and use other inappropriate sexually actions for humour. He also chokes his students unconscious even if they tap out and without their consent (I have witnessed this on three occasions) He singles you out for missing class and has a bad sense of entitlement. Stay away and please do not sign a contract. Refuses to cancel memberships even if they have the proper paperwork.
