I've been looking for authentic bujutsu study in Montreal. I've practiced karate, different boxing styles, and been in different bujutsu schools, but i think i found what i was looking for at that school. The teacher is very competent.
Jon Rivest is a kind and knowledgeable teacher who focusses on body alignment and skill. The students are friendly and respectful and the teachings challenging yet evenly paced. Intelligence is key here over brute strength. Women will find a respectful and safe environment for training where their natural strengths are emphasized over the typical machismo of other dojos. A perfect environment for those concerned with self development and applicable self defense as well as a great respect for the values and traditions of budoka.
