Sendokan Martial Arts is one of the top Aikido Dojo in Southern Ontario. The dojo offers Youth and Family Class and Adult class 4 times / week. The Dojo has a fantastic atmosphere for training. Students and sensei are friendly and welcoming, all the sensei and senior students stress "leaving your ego at the door" which has created an environment where anyone can learn this wonderful martial art in a comfortable, supportive space.
All our instructors have background checks and are trained in advanced 1st aid and CPR.
Our Chief Instructor, Nic Mills has trained in Yoshinkan Aikido for more than 30 years, in his youth Nic Mills Sensei trained in Judo and Wrestling. Mills Sensei participated in the 4th International Instructors Course (Senshusei) in Tokyo Japan (1994 ~ 1995) Mills Sensei was asked to stay on at the Headquarters Dojo first as Sewanin (Liaison) and then as an Instructor at the Headquarters Dojo. Mills sensei started the Sendokan in 1998 with John Havey Sensei, since that time other prominent and senior sensei have joined the Sendokan team: Nathan Innocente, brings with him a wealth of information, skills and knowledge about Aikido and multiple other martial arts. The Sendokan has also produced a number of fantastic Black Belt Instructors who have a crucial role in the Dojo. Peter Morawski is the Chief Instructor for the our Youth and Family class, Peter has been a long time instructor of both the Adult and the Youth and Family class. Peter participated in the Sendokan Dojo 3 year Senshusei Kenshu a special instructor preparation course.
The End result is a Dojo that has multiple 6th and 7th Dan instructors of exceptional skill and experience and multiple 3rd Dan instructors who are also exceptionally skilled and experienced. Come and see what a traditional Martial Art Dojo really feels like, watch classes and try a few for free!
