Shaolin Temple Quanfa Institute (STQI Toronto), the downtown Toronto school for the traditional and authentic Shaolin and Chinese arts was founded in the fall of 2011 by Shi Chang Dao, a 35th Generation Shaolin Disciple of 34th Generation Shaolin Monk Master Shi Guo Song. Its aim is to improve the mental and physical health of individuals through the 1,500 years of cultivated wisdom. Our school offers Shaolin classes and instruction for adults and children in Shaolin Kung Fu including hand and weapon taolu forms, Qi Gong Ba Duan Jin, Sanda Chinese Boxing, Shaolin Meditation, and Shaolin Chan (Zen) philosophy. Chinese cultural classes include Er Hu Chinese Fiddle, Dizi Chinese Bamboo Flute, Spoken Mandarin, and workshops for Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Painting, and Kung Fu Tea Ceremony. Our school also offers other cultural workshops such as Sanskrit, OM Choir, and Yoga.
The downtown Toronto school branch is also connected with the STQI Markham and STQI Laurentides schools, as well as the Canadian registered charity called Shaolin Luohan Temple, all of which are overseen by Master Shi Guo Song. Our Shaolin network offers its students and members the benefits of inter-school gatherings at major events, competitions, and tournaments throughout the year. STQI Toronto hosts several annual public events such as the Shaolin Retreat Camping in the summer and the downtown Summer Camp for children.
Shaolin Temple Quanfa Institute (STQI) was founded near the original Shaolin Temple in China in 1996 by Master Shi Guo Song. Its aim is to spread traditional Shaolin culture and martial arts. In just a few years it grew to over 1,000 active students.
