I know Sensei Ehsan Malaki from almost 20 years ago when I was his student. In the last 30 years of my practice I have not seen any sensei that has the same level of knowledge in Shotokan karate!
Go to his class and just watch how he teaches and how he explain to his students, then you understand my point. His class is not fun at all, he takes karate very seriously. If you are looking for fun do not attend his class !! He teaches real Japanese Karate.
I wish I was in Vancouver to train with him.

If you want to learn discipline and have great instructors, then this is the place to bring your kids. They are NOT after money, but do it for desire to teach. As a former student if 12 years, it took a while to find great people to teach my 2 boys and I cannot say anything wrong. Trust me and give this place a chance as I can assure, you won't be sorry!
I am 4th degree black belt and did karate for over 25 years. I have met many instructors since 1994 but I have to admit sensei Ehsan Malaki, without any doubt is one of the most knowledgeable instructors that I met so far. He is very passionate about karate and really cares about his students. I had 10 private classes with him in 2020 and I have to admit what I learned from him is equal of 10 years of practice. I seriously hope to meet him in near future. I highly recommend sensei Malaki if you are an instructor. Lastly I must mention that he is very serious in his class and purely traditional karateka.
