Adult Program
Goju Ryu Karate is the core adult program at Tallack Martial Arts. Our Master Instructor Hanshi Tallack was responsible for introducing Goju Ryu Meibukan Karate-Do to Canada in 1984. Goju Ryu (translated means "Hard and Soft Style") Karate has its roots dating back many years, and is rooted in ancient Chinese Martial Arts.
Students have a chance to develop their mind, body and spirit in a classical learning environment.
The Karate class consists of a cardiovascular warm up followed by stretching. Then students practice basic Karate movements followed by partner exercises. Then students practice the Goju Ryu Kata and other curriculum components.
Beginner classes are focused around developing a student's basic Martial Arts abilities as well as building a student's strength, flexibility, stamina, and mobility.
If you are thinking about trying Martial Arts for the first time, or you are an advanced practitioner, you will find yourself right at home in a class at Tallack Martial Arts.

Iaido
The art of drawing the sword is one of the oldest of Japanese martial arts. Ancient samurai and masters practiced and trained with the Japanese sword known as the Katana.
The art of Iaido is taught in a very calm class where hours spent on a single move is not uncommon. Patient attention is the key. This training is not for everyone but it is for those who are looking for meditation while moving. Each move and step is taken with the utmost thought and care.
Every class is run by Kyoshi Bob Davis who has trained in various forms of martial arts for over thirty-five years and shares his knowledge of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu with us.
The Iaido program is a supporting member of The Canadian Iaido Association and runs events, senior ranking examinations, and seminars through them.
