The best in Calgary for Taekwondo Training!

I have been training here for about a year and a half now and am currently at green belt. I had previous Taekwondo experience in BC but had to start over again.

The attention to detail this school puts out is amazing. Very good instructors who can not just explain but perform as well, unlike a lot of other schools with over weight instructors and lack of skills.

Also Grand Master Yu is probably the only 9th Dan level Taekwondo instructor in Calgary. His experience as an instructor, mentor, Olympic referee, and world wide recognition says it all!

Today I took my two kids to a family taekwondo class to try it out. We really enjoyed it, aside from the owner/Grand Master making a number of negative comments about our bodies and weight. I was looking for a place that would increase physical fitness, confidence, relieve stress, be fun, and build confidence and I believe that this is best achieved by motivating people and building them up, not belittling them and tearing them down. We will be going to another club that doesn’t only demand respect, but models it as well.

For any individuals looking to make the national team and the Olympics, this is the taekwondo school for you! To all martial arts enthusiast, you will appreciate the skill and attention to detail of Master Yu and Grand Master Yu. This is a real WTF style school that follows the Korean kukkiwon. It is also a superb environment for beginners to learn the basics of Taekwondo without intimidation – you will learn at a speed comfortable for you. So if you are looking to just try out martial arts or hone your skills to attend tournaments and compete in patterns or sparring, I highly recommend that you check out Yu’s Taekwondo.
