I trained with this school for one year. The instructors yelled at me and treated me like a child. I am 30 years old. They are very pushy in using you to bring your friends in to sign up. Such a hostile environment to train at. They're son Arleo is the worst instructor of them all. He has the worst attitude. After I cancelled my contract when my contract was up they continued to charge me credit card for 4 months. It's been almost a year and still no refund

I have 1 years tai chi experience. I joins skf fighting system and took master farhad instructor training course. It take me only weeks to graduate and they give me black belt. Now I am full time instructor at kfitness. Come for free trial class at 2674 w Broadway. You can to get black belt for low cost money.

The title says it all. This place is extremely overpriced, poor instruction, and shady business practices. Like I said, if you wipe your a$$ with your money, you are getting more out of it.

ive trained at many schools all over lower mainland. This one is my least favourite. They had a school in Burnaby that was run by mr. Dordar son Arash dordar (Arleo) that was under investigation for cheating clients out of money. When I trained there they would hire strangers with no martial arts experience, make them go through there instructors program, give them a black belt and let them teach classes. If you sign up for a year, you over pay by half compared to other martial arts schools in Vancouver.

self defense techniques are useless. belt graduations are a guarantee pass as long as you pay the graduation fee. its like a babysitting centre for adults. there is no sparring so there is no way to imply what you learn and make it useful. this place reminded me of that video online thats circulating of students testing for black belts and are shadow kickboxing each other with terrible technique while the street fighter theme music plays in the background. save your time and money and go elsewhere

this is a mcdojo. you buy your black belts. and you get ripped off on membership pricing. they're way better places to train in vancouver. this place has changed its names so many times because of bad press and reviews. these are fake reviews. i know two peoples names on here that have reviews and say they are active students but in fact they dont even live in the same province anymore and left along time ago because of terrible training practices. save your time and money. go elsewhere

Do not even step foot in this dojo! They rip you off, you pay too much for classes that are run like grade 4 gym class. The second you walk in that place they begin shoving contracts in your face. The contract has draconian terms, at least read before you sign!!!! And shop around first (Vancouver has many great LEGIT dojos), you will understand how terrible of a deal this place is.
And remember, if these people manage to hustle you into signing and you are sitting at home crying over the money you're wasting, by law you have 10 days to back out of a contract, so just call and cancel! Don't forget to change the credit card you gave them, they will likely keep charging you.
If you need any more convincing, Google the CBC story about Arleo Dordar ripping off his clients. He got busted because he wasn't as slick as his parents (who run the dojo on Broadway) are at ripping people off.
In short, STAY AWAY. I wish I did, now I'm losing almost $200/mo with no way out

I have 15 years of Judo and 1 year of boxing and 8 month of MMA, and now I am training at K fitness MMA academy. Instructors are really supportive and kind, they go through the details on techniques so you could be the best of your ability. The chief instructor Master Farhad Dordar, SKF training system founde,r is really amazing with the kickboxing and boxing structure. I have never seen a teacher so dedicated to his students. I really love this club, you learn so much and the group classes are amazing!

Below average all things considered
Jul 20 2015 by MuayThaiGuy (Former Student with 6 Months - 1 Year Experience at this school)
- Quality of Instruction:

The good:
1. Some training sessions are really intense
2. Clean and O. K. equipped facility
3. Friendly atmosphere
4. Some flexibility in making up missed training sessions
5. Great location
The bad:
1. Bad value for the money: $170/mo for 2 hour-long classes per week. Compare that to Chris Franco's MMA at $100/mo for 6 hour-long classes per week. Or Muay Thai Kai Singthong at $50/mo for 3 hour-long classes per week. All of the above assume you sign up for 1 year. And yes, I've tried them all
2. Belt graduations cost alot on top of monthly fees: starts at $20 for yellow, $30 for orange, and all the way to over $100 for black
3. Lots of pressure to sign the contract when you first enter the dojo. Even more pressure to re-sign
4. They try to use you as a sales tool - you are constantly being reminded to bring friends and family members to the dojo.
5. Self defence techniques leave you wondering about how realistic they are.
6. There is NO sparring, no opportunity to apply any techniques learned.
7. Too many classes you leave without even breaking a sweat. Other dojos are borderline saddistic (in a good way) when it comes to your conditioning

Competitors can fight in competition not as hidden like chicken, these Kids who run martial arts schools and put marks on other schools not only are chicken but also have no balls to say who they are so we can teach them lessons in fighting business.
We are members of Kfitness and we are really proud of our schools, we are paying %80 less than the chicken schools. The Burnaby Kfitness was a franchised school nothing to do with other schools same brand. and honestly there are always bad minded members everywhere. This site are for real customers who have experience with Vancouver West Broadway no any other places. so why not bad minded schools and people think about themselves to grow not play as chicken :-)

This place is as McDojo as it gets.
They charge about three times more than other martial arts places (which are far more legitimate, for example Muay Thai Kai Singthong or Iron City Muay Thai). Pushy sales tactics, will do anything to force you into signing a contract. No transparency in pricing, some members pay more than others.
Great place if you want to buy a black belt: belt "graduations" cost extra on top of monthly fees, and nobody ever fails, as long as you pay your "graduation" fee.
If you really want to know what this company is all about, google "k fitness burnaby", and read the two stories CBC did on them.
By the way, the positive reviews are most likely written by people that work there.

I have been training different martial arts styles for 10 years in Europe, I have moved to Vancouver 3 years ago and checked some kickboxing gyms which they had good online presence and honestly the only Gym had highest standard in teaching procedure and beak down in technical in Vancouver so far is KFitness martial arts academy and instructors are kind, Educated and humble. Thank Master Dordar's Family for creating an amazing school environment for it's students.
All the Best, Jay H.

i was talking to friend of mine at the TD Bank and came across the Kfitness and how the instructors actually make people life change to positive.
I never had the discipline to follow any program for long term but how students at Kfitness stick with the kickboxing programs for different age group is fascinating.
First of all the training is full of fun and engaging exercise style, 2nd instructors are so motivating members to their highest limit.

I am training for 4 years now and i feel great about my achievements both in physical and mental. something i have to share with you now is that, At SKF KFitness martial arts academy in Vancouver West Broadway members have never been judged by comparing with each other who is good or or who is weak! we will be judged on how we can achieve our best. are we trying hard to reach our best or not. instructors are always pushing the members to their best.

My son has trained with 3 different martial arts academies in Vancouver for 5 years, he got his black belt but never as confident when he started training at Vancouver Kfitness Academy.
He needed to do the test to be in a level to start the advance class but we felt how critical is when it comes to Bio mechanics of techniques and stances, weight distribution and all the necessary movement etc. .. My son knows more than the instructors who have trained him honestly. Thank you Master Dordar of being so helpful to my son Adam.

I have Tae Kwon do Black belt and stoped training for 4 years, i was looking for school to train and found Sport Kickboxing SKF Academy on West Broadway, I did the intro class and i am doing it for 4 years now. I really think if people haven't done this at least to try couple of sessions then they will be hooked. Training is Practical in self defense because we do MMA self defense martial arts as part of our routines. the training Curriculum is perfect and we are very happy with the school.

Well! After training under Master Dordar who has experience of training world kickboxing and MMA champions, Like Master Farid, Shawn P. Mark, and many others who i don't remember the names. ..
I am supper confident of fighting as exercise and competition.
The Boxing skill and Kicking are most valuable i found at Kfitness with Master Dordar system.

Dear visitors, If you are looking for a martial arts school in Vancouver, Kitsilano area, KFitness martial arts have the most exiting classes for children from 3 years old to 7 and 8 to 12 years old. i don't have teenager in my family but their Youth classes are as exiting as Children courses. The instructors, Sensei Sahar and Mis Marjan just amazing with kids and my daughter never want to miss any class, They are really enjoying it.
They offer an introductory classes to make sure your child like it. Some bad minded members from a few years ago had excuses and low disciplin of training and made bad comments. we have been with this school for the last 6 years and they are awesome.

Do not listen to crooks who are in competition with this high quality school and management. People who lie always screw minds for short term because this is their personality. do not get effected with weak people. New members who wish me to prove what i say, Just attend in their introductory classes and you will comment as myself. Oss Lucas James

The best way of judging is coming to the location at 2674 and simply talk to members :-)
then you will see invaluable comments are just a lie, do not ever get screwed by the weak vision folks who make things up. Please visit www. kickboxing. net

Overpriced for what you get. They force you to sign a contract and charge you ridiculous administrative fees and cancellation fees. Their classes suck and some of their instructors can barely speak English let alone show you have to do the moves properly.
im from ontario and have trained in pankration for 6 years. i did a trial class here and was not all that impressed by the training. didnt really get a great workout tbh. im not really a fighter but i do enjoy mixing martial arts with my gym routine/fitness routine. i will not be joining this school. extremely pushy after my trial class to get me to sign a contract.
