Wing Chun is a scientific close range combat system developed by a nun at the Southern Shaolin temple about 300 years ago. It teaches the use of proper body mechanics and structure to generate soft yet explosive power and to neutralize/use the opponent’s force. Proper application of wing chun techniques allow a smaller person to deal with and overcome a much larger and stronger opponent. We teach year-round so there's no gap in students development.
Our goal is to show our students the path to becoming the fighter they hope to be. We teach: hand forms, applications, and Wing Chun sticky hands (Chi Sao) – a combat simulation exercise that transforms the fighting techniques into natural reflexes. Chi Sao uses the sense of touch to defend and counter-attack approximately 7x's faster than the sense of sight.
Bruce Lee's martial arts foundation is in Kung Fu from Yip Man's Wing Chun school in Hong Kong and is what he based his style: Jeet Kune Do on. Moy Yat and our school's Grand Master, Greco Wong, were senior students of Yip Man when Bruce Lee started learning Kung Fu.
